Trench Connections

Snapping to a Connection Point or endpoints of other Trenches will create a connection between the Equipment and Trench or between Trenches. Snapping to an Equipment Connection Point, but the Trench endpoint is not "connected" to another Equipment or Trench, is show in the picture below.

The connection information is displayed in the Trench Properties. Property Start Object contain the Feature Name of the Equipment. Property End Object is blank, since the Trench's endpoint is not connected. Snapping Trenches to Connection Points or other Trenches, will automatically populate Start- and End Object property values.

In a case where the Trench is not snapped to an Equipment Connection Point, but should be connected to the Equipment, the Trench Start- or End Object property can be set manually.

Workflow

  1. Select the Trench object
  2. Open Property panel
  3. 3. Locate Start- or End Object property in the Trench group
  4. 4. Select Start- or End Object property
  5. 5. Click the push button at the end of the line
  6. 6. Select an Equipment, which should be connected to the Trench
    1. a. Equipment Feature Named will be populated in the property
Note: Manually connecting a Trench to another Trench is not supported.
